McLemore Nominations
It is time once again to honor our most deserving library staff. The Ethel Ward-McLemore Awards for Library Excellence are presented annually to two library staff members in recognition of their outstanding contributions to our libraries for the past year. The awards are funded by the late Ethel Ward-McLemore who chose to do research in the Eugene McDermott Library because of the excellent service she received from the library staff. Each award winner receives a commemorative gold pin and a check for $1,500.
Nomination Eligibility
Persons meeting the following requirements are eligible for consideration:
- Benefits-eligible employees of The University of Texas at Dallas Libraries
- Minimum of two years continuous service at UT Dallas Libraries, up to and including June 1, 2024
- Have not received this award within the past two years
The Dean of Libraries, Associate Library Directors, Assistant Library Directors, and members of the McLemore Committee are not eligible to receive the award.
Nomination Guidelines
The Ethel Ward-McLemore Award for Library Excellence will be conferred upon staff members
who have demonstrated the highest standards of library service. Be specific about why your nominees deserve to be recognized. Winners are not selected based on the number of nominations they receive, but for the reasons given by their colleagues.
- Fill out the accompanying Nomination Form at the bottom of the page for each staff member you wish to nominate
- A separate nomination form must be submitted for each person you wish to nominate.
- Previously-submitted nominations do not “carry over” from year to year. If an eligible staff member was nominated in a prior year, you may nominate them again if they are still eligible.
- The questions on the form are provided to assist you.
- It is essential to include specific examples illustrating why your nominee deserves the award.
