Welcome back, Comets!

Welcome back! The Eugene McDermott Library will begin the semester with the following changes.

New Hours starting January 17th:

Sunday: 11am-midnight

Monday: 24 hours

Tuesday: 24 hours

Wednesday: 24 hours

Thursday: 24 hours

Friday: Midnight – 8pm

Saturday: 11am-8pm

Please Note: We will be requiring physical and active Comet cards for all visitors overnight from 10:30pm-7am. UTD Police will patrol the library starting at 10:30pm checking for Comet cards and escorting non-UTD customers from the library. All customers using the building overnight will be asked to study on the 1st and 2nd floor of the library. Access to the 3rd and 4th floor will be restricted to library staff only. These policies are being put in place to increase the security for students, staff, and spaces.

Lastly, we are reinstating quiet study areas throughout the 2nd-4th levels of the library. Collaborative study spaces will be available at the 2nd floor lobby, 1st floor, and group study rooms which are available for reservation.

We are hoping that these changes will provide our customers with quiet spaces for study and will enhance your academic achievements.
